Deputy Minister of Energy and Power Development, Zimbabwe
Honourable Senator Tsitsi Veronica Muzenda is the Deputy Minister for Energy and Power Development in Zimbabwe. She Joined the Ministry of Energy and Power Development, as the Deputy Minister in the year 2014. She holds a Master’s in Policy Studies from Sapes; University of Zimbabwe and Fort Hare – South Africa. B. Ed (Business Studies) University of New Brunswick (UNB) New Brunswick, Canada. She graduated from New York University, USA with a Diploma in Business Studies.
She started her political career at a tender age in 1962, and has worked for the Government of Zimbabwe since 1981. She was the Provincial Chairperson Midlands Province (1993- 1997) and also the Secretary for Administration of the National Women’s League (2000 – 2010). Currently member of the Politburo. Before joining the Ministry of Energy and Power Development, she served in the Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education for 24 years and retired in 2005. During the period 2005- 2008 she served as a member in the Mines Committee, and also Peace and Security Committee.
In the year 2009, she served in The Constitution Parliamentary Select Committee (COPAC), assisting development of the National Constitutional Referendum.
She is also Senator for the Midlands Province.
