Mr. Antwi-Darkwa has extensive knowledge in functional structures and regulatory influences in West Africa’s energy industry. In addition to his role as Chief Executive of the Volta River Authority, he serves on the boards of the West African Power Pool and the West African Gas Pipeline Company. He was an advisor to the government of Ghana in the role of Director of Power at the Ghana Ministry of Energy from 2002 to 2009, responsible for the formulation of policies, monitoring and evaluation of projects in the power sector, as well as Project Manager for the National Electrification Programme. He has led several negotiation teams, including those on the 330MW Takoradi 2 Combine Cycle project and the 400MW Bui Hydro Project. He has also provided technical support for the World Bank, International Finance Corporation and the European Investment Bank. He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, the International Hydropower Association and several many others.
