Abel Didier Tella
Director General, Association of Power Utilities of Africa (APUA)
Eng. Abel Didier Tella, Beninese national, is an Electro-technical Engineer with a Master of Science in Engineering, a post graduate Diploma in «Renewable Energies», a Master degree in Energy business Administration. Eng. Tella is the current Director General of the Association of Power Utilities of Africa, (formerly known as UPDEA, created in 1970) with 56 active members in Africa and 25 affiliate members in Africa, Europe and America and Asia, and some associate members. Previously he worked for 25 years at SBEE, Benin national Power Utility where he served as Engineer, Head of Studies and Projects in Electricity, Regional Director and Executive Commercial Director. At international level, Mr. Tella was member of the Scientific Council of the Regional centre of the solar energy, in Bamako (Mali) from 1986 to 1989. In this current position, he has built over years a strong partnership between APUA and main African countries.
