The DBSA is a government-owned development finance institution, established in 1983, with the mandate to promote economic growth and regional integration for sustainable development projects and programmes in South Africa, SADC and wider Sub-Saharan Africa. Our mission is to advance development impact on the African continent by expanding access to development finance. The DBSA's purpose is to accelerate sustainable socio-economic development and improve the quality of life of the people of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) by driving financial and non-financial investments in the economic and social infrastructure sectors which include: Energy, Information & Communications Technology, Transport, Water and Sanitation, Education and Health.
