Pele Green Energy (PGE) stands as a premier African Independent Power Producer (IPP), specialising in the development, construction, ownership, and operation of renewable energy plants throughout South Africa and the broader African region.

Currently, PGE’s portfolio encompasses wind and solar projects with a total capacity of approximately c. 2.5GW. Through Knowledge Pele (KP), the socio-economic development arm of the enterprise, PGE extend a commitment to fostering growth in the communities where they operate and beyond.

PGE’s genesis is rooted in the progressive perception of the founding members, to establish not only a sustainable supply of clean energy in Africa but also contribute to the economic advancement of peri-urban and rural communities as pivotal areas of focus. Guided by this vision, PGE strive to positively impact communities by delivering sustainable energy solutions and creating enduring educational and employment opportunities.

Distinguished as pioneers, PGE has earned the honour of being among the inaugural 28 IPP’s granted power generation licenses in 2011. Over the past 15 years, PGE has worked on innovating and enhancing operational proficiency across the entire energy value chain.
