Households, smallholders and entrepreneurs in remote locations across Benin will be able to access reliable and cheap electricity for the first time under a new off-grid solar scheme agreed between leading solar energy company ENGIE Energy Access and the European Investment Bank, one of the world’s largest financiers of renewable energy.

GRIDWORKS AND THE GOVERNMENT OF UGANDA HAVE AGREED TO DEVELOP A FIRST-OF-ITS-KIND PROJECT TO USE PRIVATE INVESTMENT TO SUPPORT THE DEVELOPMENT OF UGANDA’S TRANSMISSION SECTOR.
The agreement was announced today by the UK Prime Minister, Boris Johnson at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Kigali.

Brussels, Belgium, June 22, 2022 — To increase access to renewable energy and expand power delivered to the grid in Mozambique, IFC and Electricidade de Moçambique, E.P. (EDM) signed today a collaboration agreement to develop small-scale solar Photovoltaic (PV) Plants and battery storage facilities.
